A few weeks ago, I decided to buy some key logging software to study online habits of my teenagers. A quick and simple search for "key logger software" found PC Pandora. Wowie! This baby will do everything - the most comprehensive all-around protection on the market, IMHO.
Along with the key logger, it also has website filters (good to have), program blocks (i.e. web browsers), plus state of the art monitoring capability - everything that goes down on your machine is recorded. But the coolest function is the ability to receive periodic email updates when you are not home. Since the kids get home first, this is incredibly useful.
Within 24 hours, I found so much horrifying info proving what my children online when I was out. Between the key logging and monitoring ability, PC Pandora presented me with the information I was looking for to talk to them and establish rules.
